These Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships are part of the Australian Government''sPacific Climate Infrastructure Financing Partnership(PCIFP) initiative to expand the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific''s (AIFFP) climate investments. It does this by partnering withbusinesses to deliver reliable and sustainable renewable energy to remote and rural communities in the Pacific and Timor-Leste, implemented by theBusiness Partnerships Platform.

There are now 13 Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships across six different countries, representing a total investment of AUD 5.8 million. This includes AUD 3.6 million by the Australian Government, with the remaining investment by partners through cash or in-kind contributions. The PCIFP is set to launch a new A$75 million long-term off-grid renewable energy program later this year. Stay up to date here on the AIFFP website here.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade works with international partners and other countries to tackle global challenges, increase trade and investment opportunities, protect international rules, keep our region stable and help Australians overseas.

Electrification has vast potential to unlock many benefits for Solomon Islands communities, including improving the quality of life for local women by enabling them to access more opportunities for economic empowerment.
