Located in the north industrial of Saskatoon, Precision Electro-Mechanical has been selling and servicing electric motors and pumps for some of Saskatchewan''s largest industrial businesses and municipalities since 2003.
Founded by Marc and Marianne Taillon, the business started in a modest-size shop. Since then, it has remained a family-owned business, undergoing three major expansions and more than quadrupling its footprint to serve more customers and take on the toughest jobs.
Having worked for 17 years in the potash industry, Marc developed a passion for electric motors and how proper predictive maintenance, including vibration analysis and repair, could save thousands of dollars and reduce downtime for major operations. As President & CEO of the company, Marc still uses this knowledge today to get customers the right solutions.
When your motor fails or needs a fix, we take care of it. In fact, it''s our specialty. We do AC rewinds and DC cleanup, random and form wound coil motors, and even motor redesigns to upgrade horsepower, speed, or voltage change on an existing unit.
As part of our rigorous quality control process, we load test our motor repairs using the latest state-of-the-art technology. In our shop, that means load testing on our regenerative dynamometer, which can produce up to 87% of the power we need to run the motor under load, reducing waste and returning clean electricity back to the power grid.
We have access to a CNC Milling Center with 4th axis, CNC and manual lathe turning and a horizontal boring mill. We also have a FARO arm to ensure proper measurement of bearing housing alignment, and a high-quality precise fit for our repair.
Whether it''s simple or complex projects, we can do them all. We can fabricate internal and external splines, and even custom make metal parts and components that can be expensive and difficult to find.
We also do in-house dynamic balancing on rotating components in motors, like fans, rotors, armatures, and impellers – up to 40,000 lbs. We can multiplane balance with in-house and fixed bearing capabilities, always with high exacting ISO tolerance standards.
