ESPE’s FX series is the line of 50, 60, 75 and 100kW wind turbines capable of starting up when wind speed reaches 2.8 m/s. Once wind speed reaches 9.5 m/s the blade is at a nominal power which is maintained up to 25 m/s thanks to an aerospace-type inspired conceptual system.Once speed exceeds this limit value, the wind turbine moves into safety position in just 5 seconds through braking devices with preloaded elastic energy storage to ensure maximum safety even in the most adverse weather conditions.
The three blades, each composed of a single block of fiber glass reinforced resin, whose profile was studied in collaboration with the University of Padua, have a diameter ranging from 18 to 20.7 meters for a sweeping area of up to 336 sqm.
The ESPE FX Series is equipped with a low-rpm Direct Drive generator which, by eliminating the Gear Box, reduces maintenance activities inside the nacelle. Furthermore, we have integrated the technical room at the base of the tower, so as to avoid external construction. Access to the nacelle is guaranteed by an external staircase equipped with a certified lifeline. All parameters are constantly monitored remotely using state-of-the-art monitoring and interface devices.
Once assembled, all wind turbines are controlled according to an articulate monitoring process. After manual pre-testing and automated testing, we power the turbines and subject them to increasingly stressful tests.
Finally, we proceed with another evaluation, verifying mechanical component integrity as well as active and passive safety component endurance. Every system must prove its capacity to work at its best even in adverse and discontinuous weather conditions.
