I ordered 16 280Ah Varicore cells for $2021 via AliExpress from the LiitokalaVariCoreFlagship Store. It took two months for the cells to be delivered from China to Arizona.
Enclosed are the capacity test results for cells 5 though 12. The blue curve is voltage in volts, the red curve is amperage in amps, and the horizontal axis is time in hours. The capacity test results are in Ah and the energy units are Wh. All cells were charged fully charged with 3.65V, followed by a 30 minute wait, followed by a discharge at 40A until 2.5V reached, then charged at the end in order not to leave the cell in a discharged state. The max charging and discharging rate for the EBC-A40L tester is 40 amps, corresponding to 1/7 C for these cells.
Each cell took about a day to test. It took over two weeks to generate the capacity test results. They clearly showed that the seller fraudulently sent cells with 85% capacity of the advertised new 280Ah capacity.
I contacted my credit card company and Paypal about the false advertising fraud. The credit card company, Chase, was excellent. My credit card now shows a full refund. Paypal dispute resolution has so far been horrible.
I submitted all the capacity test results and capacity degradation specs to Paypal. Paypal ignored the definitive state-of-the-art evidence proving 85% of advertised 280Ah capacity. The Paypal Protection program is supposed to protect against seller fraud.
Paypal also made up lies and falsely accused me of degrading the cells! Just to reach 85% degradation would take 2750 cycles, or 7.5 years of full time use at 40A, an impossibility given I just got the cells. At every turn, Paypal is supporting a fraudulent seller after definitive proof was provided of severe 85% capacity degradation.
I will taking Paypal to Small Claims Court in my locale. The filing fee is $60 in my area. It's worth it to bring Paypal to justice with strong evidence, in public, in front of an impartial decision maker that is not part of fraudulent Paypal. I discovered that there are tens of thousands of BBB complaints with Paypal, and I also discovered a great site created by a person who had their Paypal funds frozen/stolen for 4 years.
