Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world''s largest Aluminium smelters, announced that it has awarded its Solar Farm Project towards Advanced United Systems (AUS) to install Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Panels over 37,000 m2 with a capacity of more than 6 Megawatts (MW).
The Solar Farm Project will consist of around 11,300 solar panels to be fixed on the rooftop of Alba car parks and some of its buildings to include the Spent Pot Lining Treatment (SPL) Plant. The Solar Farm Project will generate in the range of 10,539 MWHr per year and approximately 7,591,760 kilograms of carbon emissions would be reduced per year — corresponding to a total reduction of 189,794,000 kilograms of carbon emissions over a 25-year span.
