renewableSpeaking to Xinhua at the ongoing three-day Second Ghana Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition in Accra early this week, the company’s Managing Director Richard Jiang said his company seeks to establish a manufacturing plant with a 20MW per year capacity in Tema, 38km east of the capital, to help boost Ghana government’s Green Industry initiative.
“Our company came from China and now we are registered in Ghana. We are brothers, so we can share technology and low-cost productions. Now our responsibility is to import good technology for renewable energy production for use in Ghana.”
Louis Lu, Manager with Kante-Solar, said the Ghanaian and African markets held great potentials for solar technology due to the energy crisis suffered by most countries on the continent.
Kante-Solar has been in Ghana for 10 years and has been the sole distributor for some diesel generator manufacturers from China. It has however expanded its business to cover renewable technology to meet Africa’s power needs.
Deputy Minister of Environment, Science and Technology Innovations, Bernice Adiku Heloo, appreciated the efforts of private sector organizations assisting Ghana to achieve the renewable energy targets of the country.
“I will like to advise importers of renewable energy products to bring in the quality projects and products that are required for the uptake of our renewable energy sector,” she said. Enditem
