The Terra 360 can offer a maximum power output of 360 kW – that is more power than 70,000 5W LED light bulbs need! Electric cars can have different power requirements. The Terra 360 scales the amount of power delivered to a car when charging, with options from 90 kW to the full 360 kW. Whether drivers want a full charge in under 15 minutes or a battery top up while grocery shopping, they can charge at the maximum speed allowed by their car.
The innovative charger can simultaneously charge up to four vehicles. That means greater charging availability and less time spent waiting for a charger to become available. Similar in size to a fuel pump station, the Terra 360 charger has a smaller footprint compared to chargers with a separate power cabinet and therefore can be installed in small depots or parking lots where space is at a premium.
As well as serving the needs of private electric car drivers at fuelling stations, convenience stores and retail locations, Terra 360 chargers can also be installed on an organization''s commercial premises to charge electric fleet cars, vans and trucks.

The new charger has a maximum output of 360 kW and is capable of fully charging any electric car in 15 minutes or less, meeting the needs of a variety of EV users, whether they need a fast charge or to top their battery up while grocery shopping.
The key feature of the Terra 360 is the dynamic power distribution between up to four vehicles (there are two plugs on each side of the charger). It means that drivers connected to the chargers will not have to wait on each other to end charging the previously connected EVs.

This new type of EV charger is rated at up to 360 kW, and can simultaneously charge up to two vehicles with dynamic power distribution (for example: one vehicle at 270 kW and the second vehicle at 90 kW, according to the specs).
Actually, there is an option to order the chargers with an additional DC, and additional AC charging output, so in some cases, it might be able to charge up to four vehicles simultaneously. Nonetheless, the base is two CCS plugs (with 500 A current limit).
ABB is pretty proud of this new product and even calls it "the world''s fastest electric car charger." but it''s just a marketing slogan, as the actual charging power and rate of range replenishing depend more on the car.
Currently, there are not many cars that would be able to charge at 360 kW. The Porsche Taycan is ready for about 270 kW, so probably only the Rimac Nevera could get 360 kW (we saw it was charging at 333 kW at Ionity once).
According to ABB, the pilot installations of the Terra 360 will be followed by a more widespread rollout across Norway and Sweden. The charger is expected to cope well even in extreme weather conditions.
In the case of Norway, a dense fast-charging infrastructure is one of the foundations to support a high electric car sales volume (about two-thirds of the new car market in 2021) and end the sale of gasoline and diesel cars by 2025.
