Vientiane demand response

This was the theme of the seminar co-organized by the Electricity Regulatory Agency of Vietnam under Ministry of Industry and Trade (ERAV) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on June 11, 2019 in Hanoi.

Mr. Tran Tue Quang - Deputy Director of the Electricity Regulatory Agency of Vietnam said that the Government of Vietnam has approved the National Program on Demand Side Management (DSM) for the period of 2018 - 2020, with a vision to 2030. Accordingly, demand response is the central program. These programs have been implemented by many countries around the world in order to balance demand and supply of electricity.

One of EVN''s crucial tasks in 2019 for business - customer services is to implement demand response (DR) programs. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung - EVN''s Head of Business Board, customers would get many benefits when coordinating with EVN in DR implementation.

Realizing this, the GMS Regional Power Trade Coordination Committee (RPTCC) who managed regional power trade in the subregion from 2004–2022, formally transitioned to the GMS Energy Transition Taskforce (ETTF) during its 29th meeting in July 2022.
